The vast majority of PANDORA’s products aremade of
silver or gold, oftendecoratedwith gemstones or stones. At
PANDORAwe are fully aware that mining andprocessing
of preciousmetals, gemstones and semi-precious stones
can be associatedwith adverse social and environmental
impacts. As amajor player within the jewellery industrywe
recognise our ability aswell as our responsibility tohelp
develop amore responsible supply chain for core jewellery
materials.
SUPPLIER AUDITS
Our key performance sourcing indicator stipulates that
80% of total sourcing valuemust come from suppliers
who have either been successfully audited by our external
auditing company or are certifiedmembers of the
Responsible JewelleryCouncil (RJC), whichmeans
that they have been audited against the broadest and
strictest standardswithin the jewellery supply chain.
Non-compliances identified during the independent
supplier audits predominantly have to dowith either
health and safety standards or working conditions.
PANDORAhasworked diligently to achieve high standards
aswell as expertisewithin both issues at our crafting
facilities inThailand.
Thuswe regularly invite suppliers to visit our crafting
facilities inThailand to understandmore about howwe
maintain high people standards and how such standards
help us raise safety levels, job satisfaction, commitment,
attraction and retention, and in turnperformance and
productivity.
In2015our 60most important Chinese supplierswill be
invited to attend amajor training programme at PANDORA
ProductionThailand to learnmore and showcase best
practice on site.
