PANDORA CSR REPORT
DIAMONDS
Since 2003, the international trade of rough diamonds has
been regulated through the Kimberley Process Certifica-
tion Scheme (KPCS), a joint government, industry and civil
society initiative that seeks to prevent the flow of conflict
diamonds into a range of industrial sectors, including the
jewellery industry.
PANDORA recognises the achievements of the
Kimberley Process such as creating awareness, increasing
shared knowledge of trade flows and reducing the
number of conflict diamonds entering themarket.
PANDORA also liaises with suppliers, peers, the Respon-
sible Jewellery Council and relevant government institu-
tions on how to further advance responsible diamond
sourcingwithin the industry. On top of requiring KPCS
compliance, PANDORA has implemented theWorld
Diamond Council’sWarranty Statement, andwe have
temporarily prohibited the sourcing of diamonds
originating from theMarange region in Zimbabwe.
PANDORA provides diamond guarantees on all invoices
to our business partners disclosing the guarantees that we
require from our own diamond suppliers:
“The diamonds herein invoiced have been purchased from
legitimate sources not involved in the funding of conflict
and in conformancewithUnitedNations resolutions.
PANDORA hereby guarantees that these diamonds are
conflict free, based onwritten guarantees provided by the
supplier of these diamonds. PANDORA also requireswritten
guarantees from its suppliers that the diamonds invoiceddo
not originate from theMarange region inZimbabwe”.
