lowingprobation, allThai staff is hiredonopen ended
contracts that includepension schemes andmedical ben-
efits thatmeet or exceed legal requirements.
Finally, PANDORAprovides a rangeofwelfareben-
efits that target additional specificneeds of our employ-
ees.Obvious examples of ourwelfarebenefits are special
breaks andmaternity classes for pregnant employees,
paternity leave, freemeals, freebus transportation for
more than2,000 employees everyday and traffic safety
campaigns such as facilitating theprovisionof affordable
highquality traffichelmets. Recognising that credit card
debt and loan sharks are common inThailand,wehave
in2011 launched apilot phaseof a “financial education
programme”.Theprogramme is designed to raise staff
awareness ondebt dynamics and thenatureof bank and
credit card interest rates. Finally, PANDORA supportsmi-
nor communityprojects initiatedbyour own employees.
LABOURRIGHTS
PANDORA complieswith the core conventions on labour
rights as definedby the International LabourOrganisation
(ILO).We recognise the right to freedomof association
and collectivebargaining.We strictlyoppose forced and
bonded labour, child labour anddiscrimination in any
form.Measures to ensure compliancewith the ILO con-
ventions are incorporated inPPTprocedures.
Reflecting the general age composition inThailand and
PPT’s status as a relativelynew company,wehave ahigh
percentageof young staffwith the youngest being18
years of age.We employ comparablepercentages ofmale
and female staff up to the level of director andwage rates
andmeasures are consistent across gender. SincePPT is a
production facility, directors aremainlyhiredon technical
qualifications and experience.Herewehave found that
thepool of qualified candidates inThailand stillmainly
